The application period for the random drawing to assign permits for the Statewide Alligator Harvest Program will begin at 10 A.M. on April 20 and run through 11:59 P.M. on April 30. .The Florida alligator season starts on August 15th and runs through November 1st.  Hunting hours are from 5:00 pm until 10:am daily.  To apply for an alligator hunting permit click on the link below:

Permits are issued  through a four (4) phase system.  The first three phases are  random drawings of the applications submitted during the application periods.  Successful applicants have a limited time to purchase their license.  Any unissued permits will be available in the forth phase.  The forth phase is on a first come, first served basis for all remaining permits.


Note:  A Florida hunting license is not required to participate in the statewide alligator hunt.
Permit holders are allowed to harvest two (2) alligators from the alligator harvest area which they are permitted, and only during their assigned harvest periods.
